If you’re searching for extra ways to make money, chances are you want more than a few extra dollars for groceries.

1. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing allows you to earn commissions by recommending products or services and receiving compensation when someone purchases through your referral.

It can be especially appealing if you already recommend products to friends and family.

Much of my content revolves around low-tox living, detoxing, deworming, cleaner water, minerals, nutrition, and healthier products for the home. Instead of promoting random products simply because they pay a commission, I can build a business around a niche I genuinely care about.

Trust is one of your greatest assets when building an online business.

2. Low-Ticket to High-Ticket Affiliate Marketing

One of my favorite approaches is what I call a Low to High Ticket system.

Instead of depending entirely on inexpensive products or trying to sell only expensive products, you can create several levels of income opportunity.

In my business, low-ticket products include wellness products such as detox and deworming products, minerals, enzymes, and healthy-aging supplements.

Mid-range products include NSF-certified water filtration, turmeric supplements, soaps, teas, skincare, and premium food products.

High-ticket products include premium shower filtration and water ionizers.

A $50 commission and a $2,000+ commission require very different sales volumes to produce the same income. That’s one reason high-ticket affiliate marketing can be valuable for someone interested in building meaningful income rather than occasional spending money.

3. Health and Wellness Affiliate Marketing

If you already love holistic living, health and wellness affiliate marketing may be a natural fit.

Think about how many products a health-conscious household purchases: filtered water, supplements, personal care, skincare, food, cleaning supplies, and wellness products.

If you already spend time researching these things, you may be able to turn that knowledge into educational content while recommending products you actually use and believe in.

The key is choosing products carefully and being transparent about affiliate relationships.

4. Build a Social Media Audience

Don’t assume social media is too saturated.

I started Low Tox Queen in October 2025 with zero followers on Instagram and zero on Facebook.

Eleven months later, I had grown to approximately 229,000 Instagram followers and 85,000 Facebook followers, while continuing to break my previous sales records.

I didn’t start as a twenty-something influencer. I came into this as a wife, mother, entrepreneur of more than three decades, and a former marketing consultant who decided it was time to build something of my own.

You also don’t need hundreds of thousands of followers to make money online. A smaller, engaged audience that trusts you can be incredibly valuable.

5. Start a Blog

Blogging is another way to create a long-term digital asset.

Unlike a social media post that can disappear quickly, an SEO-optimized article can potentially continue attracting readers through search engines for months or even years.

A blog can generate income through affiliate marketing, advertising, digital products, sponsorships, email marketing, and your own products or services.

It also gives you space to educate your audience in much greater depth than you can in a 30-second reel.

6. Use Pinterest to Drive Traffic

Pinterest isn’t just for recipes and decorating ideas. It’s also a visual search platform that can send people to blog posts, product recommendations, free guides, email opt-ins, and other online content.

It can be particularly useful for niches such as health and wellness, low-tox living, natural products, personal finance, work-from-home opportunities, and online business ideas.

Instead of depending on one social platform, Pinterest can become another source of traffic for your business.

7. Create Digital Products

You probably know something someone else would gladly pay to learn.

Digital products can include ebooks, guides, templates, printables, mini-courses, workshops, or other educational resources.

You create the product once and can potentially sell it repeatedly, which is why digital products are frequently included among popular passive income ideas.

Just remember that passive doesn’t mean effortless. Building the product, audience, and marketing system still requires work.

8. Turn Your Experience Into Consulting or Coaching

Don’t underestimate what you already know.

Before Low Tox Queen, I spent more than 20 years as a marketing consultant and helped hundreds of clients generate millions of dollars.

Your expertise might be marketing, bookkeeping, homeschooling, photography, organization, fitness, gardening, design, business, or something completely different.

Consulting or coaching can be one of the fastest ways to monetize skills you already have without needing a huge online audience first.

9. Build Multiple Income Streams

This is where online business gets especially interesting.

You don’t have to depend on just one source of income.

A health-focused entrepreneur might combine affiliate commissions, high-ticket commissions, digital products, blogging, social media, Pinterest traffic, email marketing, consulting, and brand partnerships.

Each piece can support the others.

Your reel can send someone to your blog. Your blog can grow your email list. Your emails can introduce readers to products you use. Pinterest can bring new people to content you created months ago.

Instead of simply creating another job for yourself, you’re building an income ecosystem.

Can You Really Make Money Online?

Yes, but there are no guarantees of easy or instant income.

I’ve worked hard to build Low Tox Queen, and my previous decades in business and marketing certainly helped me understand content, messaging, and selling.

But you don’t need my background to start.
